Contact e-mail = shotts@ymail.com My home & my neighbors' homes have deeded access to Wabascon Lake for 100's of feet, across 3 narrow lots between the road & the water, complete with deeded rights to have docks & boathouses. Until 1910 this whole area was a resort, then the last resort owners divided it into a platted subdivision of 40 lots, where they used deeded lakeshore rights across the 3 narrow lots, with an old store on the south end, to sell the other 37 lots. Some combined, those 37 lots are now only 11 homes. The last owner of the store on the 3 narrow access lots converted the store to their residence, with no approval nor any legal regard to all the deeded accesses. That action was challenged & resolved by the signing of a notarized legal affidavit (officially recorded in Calhoun County Liber) that the store converter knew of & respected the preexisting rights of land usage, lake access, & dock/ boathouse rights.
Decades later, now that de...

DENVER (AP) — Two women who say a nurse sexually assaulted them while they were unconscious in intensive care filed a lawsuit Tuesday against the Colorado hospital where they were being treated, alleging the hospital's management didn't do enough to prevent the abuse. The lawsuit — which is proposed as a class action suit — alleges St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction and SCL Health and Intermountain Healthcare, the companies that ran the hospital, knew or should have known about the actions of the nurse, Christopher Lambros, who has been arrested and charged with sexual assault. Police say Lambros would record himself sexually abusing female patients while they were unconscious or incapacitated. According to his arrest affidavit, on a day in June when Lambros made five videos of himself abusing a patient, he whispered to the camera saying “don’t ever get rid of these videos” and “you need to keep them forever ... this is your Dexter collection.” The lawsuit claims he was refe...

A little boy and his father were shot with BB gun pellets, and now police are searching for two suspects in what's being investigated as a hate crime in a Jewish community. As CBS2's Kristie Keleshian reports, it was a traumatic experience for a 7-year-old boy, who could be seen on surveillance video flinching after being grazed in the ear by BB gun pellets when walking out of the supermarket with his dad, who was hit in the chest. Police are looking for a black Ford Mustang with no license plates. There's been no description of the two suspects they're looking for. "I've been living here for five years and I've never heard of something like this happening in this area. That's not something that we hear, and hopefully this is the last time," one area resident said. It happened right outside the exit of the Island Kosher supermarket on Victory Boulevard at around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The NYPD is working closely with local safety patrol Staten Island Sh...

The skepticism was swift and citywide, from police precincts to emergency rooms and EMS ambulances, when Mayor Adams rolled out his new plan to force the mentally-ill into medical treatment. Those front-line first responders, speaking with the Daily News, were quick to question the details surrounding the newly-announced approach to their jobs, specifically citing the increased responsibilities for already busy workers, potential legal issues and threats to their on-the-job safety. Advertisement “Our members get routinely assaulted as it is now,” said FDNY EMS union Local 2507 head Oren Barzilay. “Our worry is that this policy will only exacerbate the danger our members are faced with on a daily basis ... The city is not doing much about the assaults on our members as is, and it only got worse with bail reform.” A highly agitated man was taken into custody by cops outside of the Tillary Hotel at Flatbush Ave. Extension and Tillary St. in Brooklyn on Friday, June 5, 2020.
